Egg Carton Treat Holder

Halloween is the time of year where kids get treats, and get to dress up. It used to be all about ghosts and goblins, but now it is more about princesses and super heroes. To help your little heroes and princess get into the holiday spirit, try the following fun Halloween crafts:

Egg carton treat holders: These are simple, cheap, and make for fun decorations, party favors, or just because. To make these you will need the following supplies:

A cardboard egg carton. Not the Styrofoam ones.

Tissue paper in orange, black, yellow, and white.

Paints in Halloween colors.

Googly eyes. Bigger, but not too large.

Hot glue gun with glue.

Halloween colored candies.

To make:

Start by having an adult cut out one egg holder for each child. You will want to cut it so it is just the cup that holds the egg, nothing around the top. You can get several out of one carton, so you can even let each child make two or three if they want.

Now paint the outside of the egg carton cups in a fun Halloween color. They can be orange, black, green, etc. Then set them aside to let them dry. An adult may want to help with this part as if there is too much paint it will either rip, or take ages to dry. One good coating is plenty.

While you are waiting for the carton cups to dry, cut the tissue paper into 4 in by 4 in squares. You will want to choose the colors to correspond with, but contrast the color you painted your egg carton. So, if you painted the carton black you may want orange or yellow tissue paper. If you painted it orange you may want black or white paper.

Once the carton is dry, have an adult help the child secure some googly eyes on it. These are fun and fast, and will give the little cup so much character.

Once the eyes have dried in place, put your selected tissue paper in the carton to line it, and fill the little cup with your Halloween colored candies. Things like M&M's tend to work best.

Last but not least, enjoy. You can use these as table decorations, or just for fun!

If your child wants to get more creative with the, allow them to use other materials like felt to create bow ties, lips, hair, etc. and decorate the little cup further. Just remember to help when they use scissors or hot glue.

The thing that is great about this craft is that it is the perfect size for those little helping hands, it is fast and easy, and it is going to bring them joy each time they look at it.

Paper Jack O' Lantern

The following are two simple Halloween crafts that are fun for kids and adults, and that get everyone in the spooky, fun, mood for Halloween:

Paper Jack-O-Lantern:

Paper Jack-O-Lanterns are a fast, easy and relatively mess free way to let your child experience the fun of making a Jack-O-Lantern without the pumpkin, knife, and mess of pumpkin innards.

You will need:

Paper plates.

Yellow construction paper

Green construction paper

Orange paint

Sponge paint brush

Tape or glue

To make you are going to do the following:

1.	Flip the plate over so the eating surface is face down.
2.	Paint the back of the plate orange. An adult may want to help do this as it will not work well if too thick or too wet of a coat is put on. A fast, coat will dry better and not warp the paper of the plate.
3.	Let the plate dry.
4.	Use the green construction paper to cut out a top to your pumpkin.
5.	Use the yellow construction paper to make eyes, nose, and mouth for your Jack-O-Lantern. You can make it as scary, or as friendly as you want.
6.	Use tape or glue to secure the pumpkin stem and the Jack-o-Lantern face on the plate.
7.	Hang on a wall as a fun Halloween decoration.

Black tin cat: This is a cute Halloween craft that works great for holding pens and pencils, or for holding treats.

You will need:

A tin can

Black spray paint

Black construction paper

Hot glue

Felt in yellow, black, and pink

White pipe cleaners.

To make, do the following:

Start by painting your can black. An adult will want to do this, or you can forego the spray paint and use an acrylic paint and let the kids do it while being supervised.

Step two is to cut some cat ears out of your black construction paper. If you want your cat to be more durable, use felt instead of paper.

Step three: Secure the ears to the inner rim of the can using hot glue. Once again an adult should help with this part.

Step four: Cut out cat shaped eyes from the yellow felt, and black slits for the center of the eye with black felt. For an even more realistic look, consider cutting out some black to rim the top of the eye as well. Glue these pieces together to create the whole eye, make two of them.

Step five: Glue the eyes on the can, under where you glued the ears, and close enough together to resemble cat eyes.

Step six: Cut a cat nose shape from the pink felt.

Step seven: Secure the nose on the can.

Step eight: Cut your while pipe cleaners to the length you want for whiskers. Use three for each side of the nose, or 6 total.

Step nine: Secure the whiskers on the can with hot glue.

Step ten: Use!

For a little more oomph, consider using leftover black felt to fashion a tale you can wrap around the bottom of the can!

Preschool-Aged Halloween Bulletin Board Ideas

When it comes to preschool classrooms, visual stimulation is important. It helps give the kids in the classroom something fun to work on and look at, as well as reiterate the things being taught by having it in their sight.

Bulletin boards are a great way to incorporate lesson plans and help preschool students. Decorating bulletin boards for holidays and seasons is particularly fun.

These are a few ideas to help make your bulletin boards fun for Halloween. They are suited to preschool aged children, and the kids will have fun working on projects that they can then display in their classroom.

Pumpkin Patches

Halloween and fall is a perfect time to incorporate pumpkins into your lessons and on your bulletin board. Roll out some brown or white background paper, and place paper plates with orange paint on them. Have the kids come up one or two at a time (depending on the number of aides you have) and have them dip their palms in the paint, then write their names by the pumpkin they make. When the paint is dry, you can attach pipe cleaners or twisted green tissue paper to resemble vines, and paint or tape a stem to the top of the pumpkins. Let the kids decorate their pumpkins and write "Preschool Pumpkin Patch" or "Teacher's Name Pumpkin Patch" at the top of the bulletin board.

Another fun idea incorporating pumpkins is to photograph each child and print the pictures off, or get their school photos. Make a pumpkin patch on the bulletin board with simple orange pumpkins, but cut a "door" on each pumpkin so you can open them up. Or, you can simply tape the top of the pumpkin by the stem, so it can be easily lifted. Display each child's picture and name under each pumpkin, and title the bulletin board, "Look Who's Hiding in the Pumpkin Patch!"

Preschool is a Hoot

This is a good bulletin board that can be used not only for Halloween, but fall as well. Decorate the background of the bulletin board with blue or black paper, a moon, and a tree made from construction paper. Then print off pictures of owls for students to color or decorate however they want, and be sure to write their names on them. Title the bulletin board, "Preschool is a Hoot!"

You could also do a variation of this by having kids write on their bats their names, and then titling the bulletin board, "Hoo Are We?" or something similar. If the kids can't write well yet, then put their pictures over the owl faces.

Ghosts

Ghosts are an easy and fun way to do a Halloween bulletin board. You can cut out ghosts from construction paper and let the kids decorate them, then display them on the board. You can also let the kids trace their hands (fingers together) on white paper, and cut them out that way. Your background can be a simple Halloween background. You can also tie the ghosts into whatever you're learning about by saying something like, "Boo!" And then a phrase about counting, the alphabet, or whatever it is the kids are learning about.

Even with preschool kids, there are lots of bulletin board ideas for Halloween you can do that they can participate in. These are a few ideas for creative and festive Halloween bulletin boards.

Inexpensive Halloween Bulletin Board Ideas

Many daycares, preschools, churches, and elementary school teachers keep bulletin boards up. These are usually decorated depending on the season or holiday and are a fun way to show what the class is doing and display some of their projects and work.

But the costs for materials to decorate bulletin boards can really add up. Many times, this comes out of a teacher's own pocket.

If you want a fun Halloween bulletin board but don't want to spend a lot of money on it, the following are some great inexpensive Halloween bulletin board ideas:

Paper plate pumpkin patch

You can turn your bulletin board into a pumpkin patch without spending much money with this fun bulletin board idea. All you need are paper plates, orange paint, black and brown construction paper, and green construction paper or tissue paper.

Cut out "stems" for the pumpkins out of brown construction paper. Have students paint their paper plates orange to look like pumpkins, then cut out shapes for faces out of black construction paper and glue them on the faces of their pumpkins once the paint dries. (You can also get precut shapes, but this starts to get expensive for a class full of students.)

Turn your bulletin board into a pumpkin patch by making "vines" out of tissue paper or construction paper, and attaching the pumpkins to them.

Spiders bulletin board

This bulletin board only requires a few materials and is a good way to set the mood for Halloween. Use colored butcher paper as a background, then purchase inexpensive spider web Halloween decorations and black pipe cleaners, as well as black construction paper and craft eyes, if you want. If you don't want to use pipe cleaners, you can cut out strips of black construction paper and fold them like accordions, and use those for legs instead. Have students make their own spiders, then display them on the bulletin board.

"Just Borders" bulletin board

You can make a bulletin board that is easy and inexpensive by purchasing an inexpensive Halloween themed border and orange or black background paper. From there, simply display your students' artwork, pictures, or assignments or projects they have worked on.

Scarecrows bulletin board

This bulletin board is inexpensive because all it takes is scrap paper, raffia, and some construction paper. Have students make a pumpkin head using orange construction paper, then use scraps of paper from magazines or leftover assignments to create "patches" for the scarecrow's clothing. Put a little raffia around his hands and neck, and display them on the bulletin board. You can also add a green background to look like a garden.

Skeletons bulletin board

This is an inexpensive Halloween bulletin board and is a great way to correspond with a unit on the body. Purchase black construction paper and assorted pasta. If you can find a bag that contains spiral, penne, elbow macaroni, and bowtie pasta, that's pretty much all you will need. Using black construction paper as a background, use the pasta to make skeletons. An idea is spiral pasta for spine, penne for arms and legs, elbow pasta for ribs, and bowtie pasta for the hip bone.

Bulletin boards are a great way to add a little spice to your classroom, especially during seasons and holidays like Halloween. And, they need not be expensive. There are many inexpensive Halloween bulletin board ideas that won't cost you much in materials; in many cases you can use things you already have lying around.

Halloween Themed Bulletin Board Ideas

Most classrooms, day cares, preschools, or after-school programs have bulletin boards. These are the perfect way to set the theme of your classroom while proudly displaying the things the kids have worked so hard on.

Bulletin boards are also a good way to bring a festive mood into the classroom by decorating the bulletin boards to a theme for different holidays and seasons. Below are some great ideas for Halloween themed bulletin boards that you can use to display pictures of your class or the work that they have done.

"Boo"tiful Work"

One way you can display the work done by your elementary school aged students and still keep with the Halloween spirit is to decorate the bulletin board with ghosts, and then use cut-out letters to spell "Boo"tiful Work!" at the top of the bulletin board. Decorating in a ghost theme provides a number of different ideas. You can simply display the work on the board, and then put ghosts in the corners and all around the board, or you can have the students make their own ghosts out of construction paper, and then tape their work in the middle of it. This is a good way for the kids to be creative as well. You can also put spider webs, fake spiders, etc. on the board to keep in the Halloween theme.

"Frankly Speaking..."

You can use a Frankenstein cutout to spice up your bulletin board for Halloween. Decorate the background any way you want, with a Halloween theme. Then put the Frankenstein cutout somewhere on the board. Display the students' work on the board, and then make a caption that pertains to it, starting out with "Frankly speaking," or "Frankly," such as, "Frankly Speaking, Math is Fun!" and put the students math work up. Or, "Frankly, we love kindergarten!" And have pictures of the kids up on the bulletin board. (You can attach the kids faces to pumpkins or some other type of Halloween theme.)

"Spooktacular!"

You can make a Halloween themed bulletin board by using cut-out letters to spell "Spooktacular!" at the top. You can also use variations of that, like "Spooktacular Work!" or "(Teacher's name) Class is Having a Spooktacular Time!" Then, decorate the board with any number of Halloween themed pictures. You can take photos of the kids making Halloween crafts, or in their Halloween costumes if you had a party, and then display them. Or, you could simply display their work and put pumpkins, bats, or other Halloween-themed cutouts around the board.

"Batty About..."

Bats are a great Halloween theme, and you can use the phrase "Batty About" to tie it together with whatever your class is working on at the time. (For example, Batty About Reading, Batty About First Grade, and so forth). Decorate the background to look like a sky and moon using blue colored background paper and yellow for the moon. You can then have the kids make bats using construction paper, or you can find some pre-made bats and attach them around the bulletin board, using the majority of the space for this kids' work. Another fun thing you can do is attach their pictures to the bats.

Themed bulletin boards are perfect for classrooms. These are a few Halloween theme bulletin board ideas for you to spice up your classroom with.

Halloween Bulletin Board Ideas

Bulletin boards are a fun way to decorate classrooms and daycares for different holidays and themes. They also provide a great way to show students' work when parents come to visit.

Bulletin boards decorated for Halloween are a great way to bring a festive mood into the classroom. If you need a few ideas for Halloween bulletin boards, here are a few that are fun for both teachers and students to work on:

Scarecrows

Decorate your bulletin board like a cornfield with scarecrows with this bulletin board idea. Make the background look like a cornfield. You can do this with a colored background, then adding cornhusks (real or cutout pictures along the bottom and sides of the bulletin board. Have students make scarecrows, and then place them on the bulletin board. You can use a creative saying to go along with this, like, "Scaring up Fun in First Grade," or so forth.

To make the scarecrows, get different colored scraps of paper. Scrapbook supply stores are a great place to do this, as you can get large squares of paper for inexpensive. Cut them into quarters to prevent waste. Make patterns of shirts, scarecrow heads, hats, and pants, then have students trace them onto the scraps of paper of their choice and cut out their shirts and pants. Have the students decorate their scarecrow faces however they want, and add bits of raffia to the ends of the arms and legs. Display them on the bulletin board.

Skeletons

There are a few different things you can do with skeletons for Halloween bulletin boards. Both of the ideas here are better for older kids in third grade or higher. This type of bulletin board looks best with a black background, because the white from the skeletons will stand out. The first thing to do is have students fold a piece of white paper in half, then cut it out doubled. Show them how to cut out ribs and hip bones so it resembles a skeleton when they open it. Then attach a skull, arm, and leg bones to form the rest of the skeleton. Each one will be unique because of the way they cut it.

They can also make skeletons using different shapes of pasta. You can make a skeleton by attaching dried pastas such as spiral, penne, elbow macaroni, and farafelle (or bowtie) pasta to black construction paper. Use the spiral pasta for spine, penne or macaroni for arms and legs, elbow pasta for ribs, and the farafelle or bowtie pasta for the hip bone. Then, display the finished product once it dries on the bulletin board.

Pumpkins

Pumpkins also make a great Halloween bulletin board. One idea is to have students cut out pumpkins from orange construction paper, then decorate the pumpkin heads to look like themselves. Use different colors of yarn for hair and so forth. Then, attach the pumpkins to the bulletin board and say, "Our Pumpkin Patch." You can also have students paste their pictures to pumpkins, then make the board look like a pumpkin patch with vines attached to them. Vines can be made with green curling ribbon, green pipe cleaners, or twisted tissue paper. Another easy idea is to pre cut out pumpkins for each student, then let them decorate the faces however they wish.

Halloween is a great time for you to be creative with your bulletin boards. These are just a few ideas for fun Halloween bulletin board ideas.

Elementary School Halloween Bulletin Boards

Bulletin boards are a classroom staple for many teachers. Not only do they provide a great way to display students' work, but they also serve to inspire and help teach the things they are learning in the classroom.

Many teachers decorate their bulletin boards for the different seasons and holidays. The following are some elementary aged Halloween bulletin board ideas you can use in your classrooms:

Spiders. Elementary school aged kids will enjoy making these spiders that you can display on your bulletin board. Cover the bulletin board with purple, black, or blue butcher or background paper. Then let kids make their own "spiders" using paper plates (if you can find smaller sized plates, these work the best) and black paints. Have them paint the plates black, then let them dry. While they are drying, show them how to use scissors to cut "legs" out of strips of construction paper, then fold them back and forth accordion-style to make legs. Attach the legs with tape or glue, then paint on eyes (you can also use craft eyes.) Cut out the words "Happy Halloween" and put them at the top.

Skeletons. You can either make skeletons or purchase a cutout for this Halloween bulletin board idea. Decorate your background (orange and/or black are good). Then, have the kids make skeletons. You can find a pattern easily doing an online search. Let the kids decorate them how they want, putting their pictures on them if you like. Then, put a saying on the top like, "No bone's about it - third grade is fun!" or something similar. You can also use the pre cut skeleton and attach the students' projects to the bulletin board instead of having them all make pumpkins. You can also be creative and decorate with headstones, etc. to give it a more Halloween feel.

Ghosts. With this bulletin board, have the kids trace their hands with their fingers closed on white construction paper, and then cut them out and decorate them to their liking. Use a creative background, like a pre made picture of a haunted house, then put the kids' ghosts all around the board. Your saying at the top can be, "Scaring up Fun in (teacher's) Class" or something similar. You can also customize the saying to the theme of the work on the bulletin board; for example, one teacher suggested for English, writing adjectives pertaining to Halloween on the ghosts (Eg, scary, creepy, and so forth) and then captioning it, "Scaring Up Adjectives."

Haunted house. If you have a small class or group, you can make this bulletin board fun by making a haunted house with construction paper, or you can find one to print off online. Make as many windows in the haunted house as you have students, using brown construction paper as shutters, then tape their pictures behind the windows. Caption it, "Look who's hiding in the haunted house?" or "Happy Halloween" or something similar. This is a fun one that the kids can be involved in as well. Decorate the rest of the bulletin board with trees, spiders, or other Halloween decorations.

Halloween bulletin boards are a great way to spice up your classroom a little and make it festive for fall and Halloween. These are a few ideas that are perfect for Halloween bulletin boards for elementary school kids.

Easy Bulletin Boards for Halloween

Most teachers, child care workers, or preschool teachers will have bulletin boards in their classrooms. They are a great way to display a student's work, reinforce lessons being taught, and add a little festivity to the classroom for holidays and seasons.

However, decorating bulletin boards can be both time consuming and expensive. A few tips for making bulletin boards easy to do include:

·	Just make a border. Cover the back of the bulletin board with colored background or butcher paper (orange, black, or purple work well for Halloween) and make a fun and festive border, either purchased from a teacher supply store or made on your own. Then, use cut out letters to spell "Happy Halloween" or something similar and then use the students' work or projects to cover the remainder of the bulletin board.

·	Decorate for fall. Decorating a bulletin board for fall is a good way to save time and is also easy. This way, you don't have to change bulletin boards for fall as well as Halloween. Simply use fall colors, like orange and brown, and just change the title of the bulletin board. Or, use a theme that encompasses fall and Halloween, like pumpkins or owls.

·	Do a fun background. You can do a fun, festive Halloween background with black or orange paper, and then stretch cobwebs across the corners and put in fake spiders. Or, you can put cut-out gravestones on the bottom, and decorate the top and sides with ghosts, saving the middle for work by the students.

If you need some more inspiration, the following are some easy to do bulletin boards for Halloween that won't take a lot of time or materials.

Halloween Print-outs

This is an easy Halloween bulletin board in which the kids do all the work. A simple search on the internet for Halloween coloring pages or Halloween print-outs should bring up a wide range of pictures that have to do with Halloween, from pumpkins to bats and cats and witches. Have the kids color the pictures, and then cut them out and display them on the bulletin board.

Spiders

This bulletin board is easy to do and requires nothing more than a black background and a white permanent marker. Using the marker, draw a large spider web on the background. During class one day, have kids make spiders. This can be done with construction paper, pipe cleaners, or any other way you can think of. Classes can use this bulletin board in conjunction with a lesson plan on insects.

Fall Leaves

This idea is good for fall as well as Halloween, and can also be used as a unit for trees. Have the students cut out fall leaves (or you can do this yourself) and have them write their names on the leaves. Then, place the leaves by the students' work. The title of the bulletin board can be, "Falling for Math," or whatever it is the theme of the month is.

These are just a few very easy to do Halloween bulletin board ideas for teachers and childcare workers. You can find more easy ideas by doing online searches for Halloween bulletin board ideas, visiting a teacher supply store, or getting ideas from other teachers in your area.
